A bushy, compact, upright, deciduous shrub. Dark green ovate leaves with prominent veins are on dark stems. Fragrant flowers are on large dense panicles, from July to October, appearing first light green, then turning white, maturing first as a light pink and then finally a darker pink.

Cultivation
