Spreading, deciduous shrub about 3-4m tall, with long arching stems bearing mid-green, lance-shaped leaves to 20cm long, grey-green when young. Rounded clusters of fragrant, pale mauve-blue flowers with an orange eye, produced in open terminal panicles, in summer and autumn
