A compact, bushy, rounded, semi-evergreen shrub with dark green oval leaves to around 90cm (35in). In summer clusters of star-shaped, bright yellow flowers with prominent stamens are borne in profusion. These are followed by yellow berries, which turn bright red, before eventually maturing to brown/black.
