A deciduous azalea to about 1.5m high, with elliptic leaves that open bright glossy green and mature to dark blue-green. Late-flowering, produces rounded clusters of 7-8 lightly fragrant, coral pink flowers with a golden yellow tint on the upper petals, in early summer. Produced in England, introduced at the Hampton Court Flower Show in 2015

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in moist but well-drained, humus rich, acidic soil, in partial or dappled shade. Choose a site away from frost pockets and sheltered from strong winds. Mulch annually, ideally with leaf mould. See rhododendron cultivation for more detailed advice

Propagation

Propagate by semi-ripe cuttings in late summer, or by grafting in winter
