An evergreen azalea to about 75cm high, with a broad, bushy habit and narrowly elliptic, dark green leaves. Flowers are semi-double, widely funnel-shaped and rose pink, with a white margin and red spots in the throat. Late flowering, with relatively few flowers, but unusual in its colouring

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in moist but well-drained, humus rich, acidic soil, in partial or dappled shade. Choose a site away from frost pockets and sheltered from strong winds. Mulch annually, ideally with leaf mould. See rhododendron cultivation for more detailed advice

Propagation

Propagate by semi-ripe cuttings in late summer, or by grafting in winter. As this plant is protected by Plant Breeders' Rights, any propagation should be for personal rather than commercial use
