A compact, deciduous shrub about 50cm tall and 60cm wide, with a pyramidal habit, and rusty-pink leaves to 3cm long, dark pink when young, turning fiery orange to dark red in autumn. Racemes of red-tinged, pale yellow flowers to 1cm long, produced along the branches in spring, followed by glossy red autumn fruit
