An open-branched shrub, or ultimately a small tree to about 4m, with broad, smooth, shiny leaves about 10cm long. These drop at low temperatures but remain evergreen in warm conditions. Flowers are tubular, vivid red-orange, with fine yellow stripes and a yellow throat, and carried horizontally

How to grow
Cultivation
Grow outdoors in full sun after danger of frost is passed. Grow under glass in full light over winter with a minimum of 7-10°C. Use a peat-free, loam-based potting compost. Feed monthly with a balanced feed. See brugmansia cultivation
