A dense, spiny, deciduous shrub about 80cm tall, with a strong, upright habit, and oval-shaped leaves to 3cm long, emerging bright orange in spring, aging to red with a golden edge in summer, before turning orange-red in autumn. Racemes of red-tinged, pale yellow flowers appear in spring, followed by red berries in autumn

Cultivation
