Hamamelis 'Primavera'
An upright shrub, becoming vase-shaped, up to 3m high and 3 m wide, with rounded leaves 11cm long and 10cm wide which emerge medium green with a light bronze flush, become sage-green, and turn yellow in autumn, and many downward-facing, faintly scented flowers with claret-red calyces and clear bright yellow petals over 2cm long, curled at the tips, crimped, and tinted purple-red at the base, from midwinter to late winter
