An early-flowering deciduous perennial climber with dark green leaves. Large, semi-double mauve flowers appear in late spring to early summer with dark gold and red stamens, followed by a second flush of single blooms in early autumn. Flowers become mottled and mauve-blue at the edges as they mature

How to Grow

Cultivation

Plant in a moisture-retentive, well-drained soil, with the roots and base of the plant kept cool and shaded by other plants or a layer of pebbles at the base.
