Vigorous small tree about 10m tall, with glossy mid-green leaves to 20cm long. Flowers to 12cm in length, are richly scented, cup-shaped with 9-12 rosy-pink tepals, soon fading to pale pink with a magenta central stripe on the outside, from mid to late spring

How to grow
Cultivation
Grow in moist but well-drained neutral to acid soil in full sun or part shade with shelter from cold winds. Late frosts may damage flower buds. See further magnolia cultivation advice

Propagate by softwood cuttings in early summer or semi-ripe cuttings in late summer
