'Snow Queen' is a climber 2.5-3m high with green leaves and flowers, up to 18cm across, composed of usually six wide, overlapping, wavy-edged sepals, white tinged with mauve at first and then becoming pure white, and red anthers, in early summer and again in late summer and early autumn, the autumn flowers often having a pale pink stripe along each sepal; many clematis are visited by bees for pollen, and some also provide nectar
