Dense, compact evergreen shrubby tree about 3-4m tall, with purple young stems. Leaves are small, evenly spined, dark green with pale green shading and a deep yellow central blotch. Small white flowers appear in late spring, a male cultivar good for pollinating female holly plants

Cultivation
