Shrubs Fruit Edible
A low, spreading shrub to around 1-1.2m high with dark green leaves and large, single, crimson flowers with prominent yellow stamens, borne along the branches in spring either before or as the foliage emerges, followed by aromatic green-yellow fruit. These can be used to make jams and jellies but please see notes on toxicity for further advice
