A compact, bushy evergreen tree to a height of 8m, with dark purple stems and spiny dark green glossy leaves margined with yellow. Clusters of white flowers appear in spring and early summer, followed by red fruit if there is a male nearby for pollination

How to Grow

Cultivation

Easy to grow in well-drained soil in a sunny or part-shaded position. Although partial shade is suitable, variegated cultivars have better leaf colour in full sun

Propagate by semi-ripe cuttings in late summer or early autumn or propagate by hardwood cuttings in January with bottom heat
