10 award-winning trees and shrubs with silver foliage
Silver foliage brings light, movement and a quiet sense of sophistication to any garden. Soft, shimmering leaves can lift borders, frame pathways and create beautiful contrast all year
Trees and shrubs with silvery or grey-toned foliage bring a distinctive luminosity to planting schemes. Their cool shades blend effortlessly with every garden palette, so they sit comfortably among vibrant colours or more muted combinations. Many are also adapted to dry conditions, with reflective leaves that reduce moisture loss and help them thrive through spells of summer drought. Each year, RHS Plant Trials highlight exceptional performers through the RHS Recommended: Award of Garden Merit.
