Running from Monday 22nd January, the completely free virtual event will involve a programme of live talks throughout the week, packed with inspiration and information for anyone interested in making a start in the world of horticulture.
The event aims to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds from school leavers to career changers, and those who are already studying or employed in industry, to broaden their horizons and career aspirations. There will also be the opportunity to learn how to start out on a career journey with learning and training opportunities available at the RHS.
Each day will include a variety of live talks by individuals working in the industry, including RHS alumni and current students, who can share their career journey, give insights into their role and provide tips and advice on getting into particular areas of the sector.
There will be speakers from wide-ranging backgrounds and disciplines such as garden design, horticultural therapy, productive horticulture, social media influencers, garden magazine editors, garden retail and buying, arboriculture, education, entrepreneurism and more. Among the line-up is plant pathologist and BBC broadcaster Pippa Greenwood, who is a regular contributor to Gardeners’ World and Gardeners’ Question Time. Joining Pippa will be award-winning RHS Young Designer Emma Tamsin Tipping, whose Balcony Garden design earned a Gold medal at last year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

I took a slightly unusual route into garden design so I hope that hearing about my journey helps others who might be thinking about a career in this field.”
