RHS garden tree storm damage survey

Severe storms battered Britain this winter, and we surveyed the extent of the damage to the nation’s trees

The survey has now closed

Recent storms have wreaked havoc in gardens across the country, with our own sites losing several important specimens. We surveyed gardeners about what trees planted in the ground came down or lost large branches as a result of the storms.

The survey has now closed and once we have collated and analysed the information we will share our findings. This information will help in building climate resilience for UK gardens by informing our tree planting and care advice.

All responses are anonymous and will be used to uncover broad, collated findings on the impact of recent storms on garden trees across the UK.

Thank you very much for your help. This survey closed at midnight on Sunday 28 March 2022.
