The International Malvern Moscow Exchange

Find out how one lucky Malvern exhibitor will get the opportunity to exhibit at the Moscow Flower Show in 2017

The brand new Spa Gardens category is being launched at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival 2017. It will allow one designer a once in a lifetime opportunity to showcase at Moscow Flower Show as part of a newly introduced exchange programme. The project will enable valuable skills and ideas to transfer across countries to help with the future of the horticultural industry.

About the exchange

Spa Garden applications were invited from international designers to compete for a place at the Malvern Spring Festival. The submissions went through the normal RHS Show Gardens selection process, and a winning design selected.
 
The successful applicant will now receive mentoring support from the Show and will be able to work alongside experienced garden designers, landscapers and plantspeople to benefit from their advice and expertise. Their garden will be judged in the Spa Gardens category on Wednesday 10 May.
 
Reciprocally, the UK designers who applied to build Spa Garden at the Malvern Spring Festival will be invited to submit the concept for a Show Garden at Moscow Flower Show 29 June – 9 July 2017. The winner will be selected on Thursday 11 May at the show by an international selection panel. The selected British designer will have administration and practical support from Moscow Flower Show organisers to help with build, nurseries and accommodation.

Malvern is a great place for designers to exhibit and plays a lead role in discovering and nurturing up-and-coming horticulturists. The Moscow Flower Show exchange programme is another example of this - on an international level. Malvern Show is often the first place that the public will see designers who go on to become leaders in their field. People who began at Malvern include: Diarmuid Gavin, Chris Beardshaw, Paul Harvey-Brookes, and Caitlin McLaughlin the 2016 RHS Young Garden Designer of the Year.
