RHS Greening Grey Britain for Health, Happiness and Horticulture

Feature Gardens

Plants enrich lives, have the capacity to lift our spirits, to heal us and do more good to the heart and soul than we may realise. Planted front gardens can help the nation become happier and healthier, and there is immense pleasure to be found both by gardening and being in a garden. The RHS Garden at this year’s show is championing the health and wellbeing benefits of greening-up our grey spaces. It shows just how uplifting and beautiful front gardens can be. The first ever walk-through exhibit, the RHS Garden has been designed by award-winning Ann-Marie Powell as part of the RHS Greening Grey Britain campaign and demonstrates why direct contact with plants and gardens is vital.

This colourful front garden contains bright borders, benches on which to relax and chat, a soothing water feature, a bee-friendly wildflower meadow, edible plants in pots and a stylish kitchen garden. Ideas contained within the setting can be incorporated into private and community gardens. Please get involved: promise to plant on the RHS website and make a difference one plant at a time.
