The Perfumer's Garden

Back to Back Gardens
The Perfumer’s Garden shows how urban spaces can be transformed by plants. It is inspired by an area behind the perfume shop, Pulse of Perfumery in Knutsford, and how this space could be transformed to benefit wildlife and people.

Scented plants reflect the shop owner’s passion for perfume and attract wildlife into the space. Hard landscaping is softened by pastel flowers in pinks (Pelargonium ‘Attar of Roses’), blues (Nepeta x faassenii ‘Junior Walker’) and whites (Nicotiana sylvestris ‘Only the Lonely’ and Polianthes tuberosa ‘The Pearl’).

The garden offers a place for clients to learn about perfumes, with stone pillars for demonstrations. A pergola provides the perfect location for discussion and to try new scents, while relaxing in the hanging wicker chair.
