P. anomala subsp. veitchii is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial with deep green, divided leaves with paler undersides. The drooping, single, saucer-shaped flowers, produced in late spring or early summer, may be white, pale pink or deep pink, with lemon-yellow stamens

How to grow
Cultivation
Best in a deep, fertile, humus-rich soil that is moist but well-drained in a sheltered position in full sun or partial shade. Long-lived but resents disturbance. See herbaceous peony cultivation for further information.
