Explore the wide-ranging world of human curiosity and creativity and learn about special interests ranging from lace knittery to woodwork, singing to swing dance and family history to mandala painting.

Get hands on and try out a variety of skills and challenges and speak to passionate enthusiasts about their pastime of choice. 

There are also opportunities for you to buy and browse from exhibitors offering specialist tools, materials and starter kits to enjoy at home.

So broaden your horizons, challenge your brain and engage with a new community at the Great Hobby Weekend at RHS Garden Rosemoor!

Learn new skill you can practice at home on one of our expert led workshops - booking essential!

Saturday 4 May – Book onto Saturdays events

11am    Yarn Dying

Learn how to dye a mini skein of natural fibre using a range of techniques and colourings with Debra. Everyone will receive full instructions to follow  and will take their skein home to finish at home (it needs heat to set the colour either in an oven, microwave or steamer). 
£14 per person


12.30pm    Floral Arrangement

Devon & Cornwall Florals Arts will guide you through the process of wiring items to make a small, hand tied arrangement. You will be able to leave 
your arrangements with them until you are ready to take it home.
£15 per person

2pm    Ceramic Leaf Bowl

Create a clay bowl using imprints from leaves collected at RHS Garden Rosemoor, which will be painted with gorgeous green glazes.
£16 per person

Sunday 5 May – Book onto Sundays events
11am    Beaded Pendant
Learn how to create a beaded pendant for a silver chain with guidance every  step of the way from Kate - the perfect way to discover how to bead.
£15 per person

12:30    Simply Felted Snowdrops
Julie will show you how to create beautiful needle-felted Snowdrops using British wool. You will be taught from an artist’s perspective how to ‘paint with wool’ in a step-by-step lesson. Suitable for ages 16+ and for complete beginners.
£15 per person

2pm    Needle Felted Flower Brooch
Join Devon Felt Makers and learn how to wet felt natural wool, and make your very own unique beautiful Flower Brooch.
£15 per person
