Small evergreen shrub to about 1.5m tall, with a rounded habit and oval, spine-tipped glossy dark green leaves to 3cm long, very spiny when young. Small white flowers in late spring and early summer are followed by small red berries that appear in the autumn if pollinated by a male holly plant. Suitable for smaller gardens and bonsai production
