Distinctive, large, upright evergreen tree growing to about 10m tall, with small, glossy dark green leaves, the upper surfaces puckered with short, sharp spines covering the entire leaf. Small white flowers appear in spring, this male plant is a good pollinator for female cultivars

Cultivation
