Other common names
red-hot poker 'Tawny King'
Kniphofia may be evergreen or herbaceous perennials, with linear or strap-shaped leaves and erect stems bearing a dense raceme of tubular, usually pendent flowers
'Tawny King' is is a free-flowering perennial to 1.2m tall, with narrow leaves and dense spikes of dull orange buds opening to cream flowers from mid summer to early autumn
