The Retreat is built for a retired couple within the grounds of their holiday home in France. It is an inviting space, designed to offer a spa experience promoting health, calm and relaxation. The circular space is home to a hot salt water spa, heated by a wood-burner offering hydrotherapy. There are refreshing cold showers, a lounging area cooled by mist and an area for preparing refreshing healthy juice drinks and herb-flavoured water. The ‘spa room’ is surrounded by a timber wall as well as olive and bay trees underplanted with aromatics, including those commonly used in aromatherapy, such as lavender, sage and rosemary.
