The Salad Deck

Green Living Spaces

Did you know...

  • Jam-packed with edible and useful plants, along with a few select ornamentals, this garden is a feast for the senses. Planting up the walls maximises the use of space in a small plot
  • Multicoloured mints and lettuces jostle with pink-flowered strawberries to make a garden that tastes as good as it looks

About the Garden

Designed for busy, young professionals, this garden demonstrates the possibilities of growing food in a small, multi-functional space. It is a haven of self-sufficiency, full of scented, colourful herbs, salads and edible flowers.

The planting space is maximised with a living wall, supported by sustainable decking and smooth curved walls of raised beds bursting with edible delights. There is space, too, to relax in this beautiful and productive oasis. Plants of different textures, forms, colours and scents delight the garden visitor.
