The Moments that Matter Garden, in support of St Giles Hospice, celebrates the simple and important moments that happen when family, friends and communities come together and memories are made. Designed as a real garden (to be relocated at the hospice in Whittington, Staffordshire), it provides an outdoor space for people to spend time together or an oasis of calm for someone, if needed.
With wheelchair access and raised beds to make the planting more accessible, there is room to take a patient bed into the garden and accommodate family, friends and pets. Hospice supporters have come together to make the garden happen. Sunflowers – the emblem of the hospice movement, have been sold to raise funds, and create a poignant art installation at the heart of the garden.
