Find ideas in the gardens

Chair in the Phytosanctuary GardenDesigners are already hard at work planning their gardens for 2020 and will bring innovative ideas to Tatton Park.

One exciting category to look out for is the RHS Young Designer of the Year. Our Tatton Show has been a springboard for many careers – the RHS Young Designer competition has given a helping hand to designers including Tony Woods, Tamara Bridge and Sam Ovens who have since designed gardens at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and set up their own successful businesses. Hugo Bugg, another previous winner, is co-designing the M&G Garden at the Chelsea Show this year. The four designers taking part in this important competition will be mentored throughout the process by Mark Gregory and Catherine Macdonald and will be announced in the New Year.

Details of our Back to Back Gardens, which have long been icons of the show, and Show Gardens will be revealed soon.

Plus, don’t miss entries from our School Garden competition, which sees local schools design and build their own Show Garden.

Talks Theatres

Across the showground there are a number of areas where you can drop in to listen to presentations from experts.

At Dig-In Live, edibles are order of the day and the theatre makes up part of the Dig-In area which hosts the RHS Summer Fruit & Vegetable Competition and Edible Allotments.

The Flower School is all about floristry and floral arrangements while Mow Town will focus on lawn and how to create a natural green carpet to make your neighbours jealous.

Our talks and workshops are one of the highlights of the show and we’ll have an impressive schedule of plant experts, foodies and gardeners joining us this year.

A full schedule will be released soon.
