Iris Society & Cyclamen Society Winter Show

Two of our popular early spring shows are combining for the first Plant Society show of 2024 with colourful displays of early flowering iris and cyclamen.  Visitors can enjoy rare collections and competition classes as well as a photographic exhibition, talks, plants for sale and friendly experts on hand to answer your questions.

The British Iris Society is showcasing early-flowering Iridaceae, including the reticulate irises. There will be irises from Woottens of Wenhaston for sale and hand-made iris-themed merchandise from society members, information booklets, cards and tote bags, as well as the wonderful work of artist in residence Sheryl Pape.  Experts will help answer all your iris-related questions and offer advice on cultivation.

The Cyclamen Society are featuring winter and early spring-flowering species of cyclamen, including Cyclamen coum, C. alpinum and C. elegans. There will be plants and seed for sale as well as books, booklets and cards and experts will be available to offer advice about cultivation in both the garden and greenhouse.

Talks Schedule:

• 11:00am: Growing cyclamen from seed - find out how to collect, germinate and grow your own cyclamen from seed.
• 12:30pm: Tour of the Wisley Alpine Yard - meet at the alpine house at 12.30pm.
• 2pm: Growing winter-flowering iris in the garden – how to achieve lovely displays of these plants in your own garden
