Applications are now open for 2021
Closing date for applications – 31 December 2020
About the programme
Successful candidates will have their own plot at RHS Garden Wisley to tend for almost a year, from March to January, in order to grow and enjoy both summer and winter crops. They will receive an allotment master class each month, supported by weekly question-and-answer sessions on a Tuesday afternoon with the RHS team, and get to take home armfuls of allotment-grown produce to enjoy.
This is a wonderful opportunity for novice growers to learn the art of ‘allotmenteering’ under the expert guidance of the RHS team. We are delighted to offer this programme and hope those who take part will use their new knowledge to inspire others to grow in their communities.
‘As well as potatoes, onions, sweetcorn, squash and other yummy crops, participants also grow things they can’t eat; confidence, knowledge and some great friendships.’
The cost to participate is £85, which covers the cost of gardening boots, gloves and seeds. All students will be provided with tools to use while on site. Students will have access to their plots each day (during garden opening times only) and should be able to commit to regularly tend and water their plots, and attend the monthly master class sessions.
