Are bats blind? Can they get tangled in your hair? Do they really turn into vampires?

Join members of the Surrey Bat Group for an engaging and informative evening where we’ll answers to these questions and explore the fascinating world of bats!

We’ll begin with a 30‑minute presentation just before sunset, where we'll go through lots of interesting information about our amazing nocturnal friends. After that, when the sun is well on the way down, we’ll hand out bat detectors and head out for an hour‑long guided walk. The detectors allow us to hear the sounds the bats make, so we can find out where they are.

While we hope to encounter plenty of bats, they are wild animals, so sightings or sounds can’t be guaranteed. What is guaranteed is a fun and educational experience, and a chance to learn lots about the wonderful bats living all around us.

Participants will be walking outdoors throughout the activity so please dress appropriately for the weather with shoes suitable for walking on uneven ground.

Tutor: The Surrey Bat Group
