---

Join us for a new series of live online evening talks from RHS Garden Wisley Courses & Workshops, bringing expert horticultural knowledge straight to your home.

Sustainable Planting Combinations

Join RHS Principal Horticultural Advisor, James Lawrence, as he discusses the RHS Sustainable Planting Combinations project, which helps gardeners visualise planting combinations that not only look beautiful but also fulfil environmental criteria and promote sustainable gardening practices. Based on the principle of ‘Right Plant, Right Place’, the project provides over 80 different planting schemes, including options for shade, various soil types, attracting pollinators, and delivering a range of other environmental benefits.

Discover how thoughtful plant selection can create resilient, attractive gardens that support biodiversity and help gardeners make more sustainable choices.

Speaker: James Lawrence is a Principal Horticultural Advisor at the RHS and heads up a team of over 20 horticultural advisors who answer over 120,000 gardening questions a year. James also regularly writes for ‘The Garden’ magazine and has previously worked as a horticulture and garden design lecturer.
