The RHS Horticultural Careers Day event at RHS Garden Wisley will offer the opportunity for networking and meeting professionals from a wide variety of horticultural and other areas of business. You will have the opportunity to discuss career options with experts in landscaping, garden design, ornamental gardening, turf maintenance, journalism, botany, science and retail. You can also chat to representatives from our partner colleges, to discuss your horticultural training requirements, meet RHS staff and students and have a look around the garden at areas of particular interest to you.

There will be industry talks taking place throughout the morning in the Lecture Room and additional Walk and Talk tours of the garden given by RHS students.

A timetable of talks:
  • 10.30am: Learn about RHS qualifications as a route into the horticultural industry
  • 10.50am: Walk & talk with an RHS student
  • 11am: Steve Bradley, horticultural journalist and gardening column writer for The Sun newspaper, on his career in garden writing and broadcasting
  • 11.30am: ‘The life of a young horticulturist' – a talk by one of Wisley's horticultural students on horticultural opportunities and RHS bursaries
  • 11.50am: Walk & talk with an RHS student
  • 12.30pm: Discover a world of careers with the National Trust in their 200 gardens and 100 landscape parks
  • 1pm: Steve Bradley, horticultural journalist and gardening column writer for The Sun newspaper, on his career in garden writing and broadcasting
  • 1.30pm: Learn about careers in retail horticulture with the Wisley plant centre manager
