Shrubs
A dense, evergreen shrub to about 3m in height if left unchecked, with dark glossy green, broadly oblong, sparsely-spined leaves. Drooping racemes of rich orange flowers, tinged red in bud, are produced in mid and late spring, and sometimes again in autumn. These are followed by blue-black berries in autumn
