A dense, compact, evergreen tree to an ultimate height of around 3-4m, with purple stems and variegated dark green, spiny leaves to 4cm long with golden-yellow margins. Clusters of small, white flowers appear in spring, this male cultivar is ideal for pollinating female holly plants

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in well-drained soil in a sunny position. Although partial shade is suitable, variegated cultivars have better leaf colour in full sun

Propagate by semi-ripe cuttings in late summer or hardwood cuttings in autumn to midwinter
