How to Grow

Cultivation

Outdoors, grow in a sharply-draining soil in full sun. Under glass grow in a sharply-draining, peat-free, loam-based compost with extra sand or grit. Outdoors protect from excessive winter wet. As an endemic of high-altitude habitats in South Africa, if given very sharp drainage is hardy in average winters throughout much of the UK, except the far north

Propagation

Propagate by seed in spring at 21°C or from stem cuttings in summer
