Vigorous, conical, small evergreen tree or shrub about 6m in height, broadening in maturity, with green stems and narrow, bright green, sparsely spiny leaves. Self fertile, so small, white flowers in late spring are followed by freely produced bright red berries without the need for a pollinating partner
