RHS Expert Groups

RHS Expert Groups are a dynamic network of plant enthusiasts, sharing expertise and promoting the joy of horticulture across the UK and beyond

Who are the RHS Expert Groups?

Bringing together passionate experts through RHS Expert Groups to help shape the future of gardening:

Tender Plant Group
Expert groups keeping up-to-date with developments in horticulture

There are seven RHS Expert Groups, who are a valuable source of horticultural expertise, bringing together passionate individuals from amateur, professional, and commercial backgrounds.

The members aren’t just plant enthusiasts – they volunteer their time to help shape the future of gardening, from advancing sustainable growing practices to expanding networks locally and internationally.

RHS Expert Groups play a crucial role in making expert gardening knowledge accessible, whether it’s sharing the best gardening advice with RHS members, inspiring beginner gardeners, or championing urban gardening, these groups help cultivate a greener, more knowledgeable, and more inclusive gardening community.

Their dedication ensures that horticultural knowledge continues to thrive and inspire future generations.

  • Input into activities at RHS Shows, gardens and events to promote horticulture and engage more people in gardening
  • Help build horticulture for the future by promoting and enabling opportunities for careers in horticulture through active engagement with students at all levels
  • Submit proposals for RHS Plant Trials, establishing recommendations for trials and the make-up of relevant assessment forums
