A large shrub or small climber to about 2.5-3m tall, with almost thornless stems, large glossy mid-green leaves and orange buds open to very large clusters of fragrant, fully-double, apricot blooms with a yellow base, fading to almost white, repeat-flowering through summer and autumn, the autumn flowers tinted pink

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or part shade, suits a north-facing situation. Mulch with well-rotted organic matter in late winter or early spring, and for best flowering apply a general rose or shrub fertiliser in early spring and again in early summer. See rose cultivation

For home use, propagate by hardwood cuttings in autumn, softwood cuttings (under glass) in spring or summer or by chip budding in summer
