Vigorous old-fashioned climbing rose, about 3m or more in height, a seedling of 'Gloire de Dijon' with prickly stems and semi-glossy dark green leaves. Large, full, fragrant, coppery-salmon blooms, with yellow at the centre, repeating-flowering from early summer to autumn; introduced in 1872

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Mulch with well-rotted organic matter in late winter or early spring, and for best flowering apply a general rose or shrub fertiliser in early spring and again in early summer. See rose cultivation
