Old-fashioned shrubby rose about 1.8m tall, with light to mid-green foliage. Very free-flowering with loose clusters of spicy scented, shapely double crimson blooms, darkening with age and with white flecks on the inner petals, almost continuously in flower through summer and autumn; introduced in 1897

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Mulch with well-rotted organic matter in late winter or early spring, and for best flowering apply a general rose or shrub fertiliser in early spring and again in early summer. See rose cultivation
