Very large Boursault rose, about 4.5m tall, with thornless stems, darkening from green to pale greenish-brown as they mature and good dark green foliage. Large, fragrant, fully double, rich pink blooms to 12cm across, open flat with distinctive layers of ragged, larger outer petals, once-flowering in midsummer; originating in Paris 1874

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or part shade, flowers well in shade. Mulch with well-rotted organic matter in late winter or early spring, and for best flowering apply a general rose or shrub fertiliser in early spring and again in early summer. See rose cultivation
