Lunch Break Garden

Get Started Gardens

The Lunch Break Garden unifies our need to reconnect with nature and foster richer relationships with our green spaces. It provides a sanctuary from work, a place to unwind, to improve positive mental wellbeing, becoming immersed in the nurturing of the plants within.

The planting palette is vibrant and diverse yet deliberately restricted to eight herbaceous selections. The RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM) plants that have been selected are intrinsically strong and tolerant and all have a long season of interest. The plants attract pollinators such as bees and other beneficial insects and birds, and many are drought tolerant. The planting is punctuated with raised steel planters of varying heights and multi-stem trees offering structure, form and interest for every season.

The garden draws the visitor in along permeable gravel paths with squares of clay pavers providing points to pause and immerse oneself into the tranquility of the space. A simple seating area overlooks a reflective water feature, the ultimate space to reset and unwind from a day in the home office.

Designed to be used as a ‘kit’ garden, the skills acquired to look after these plants can easily be transferred to hundreds more plants.
