Vigorous, dense, climbing tea rose, about 2.5m tall, with plentiful dark green, glossy foliage. Very fragrant, fully double blooms in the form of flat, quartered, white rosettes sometimes with a hint of pink at their centres, repeat-flower through summer to autumn; c. 1850

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun, in a warm sheltered position. Best suited to southern counties and inner city locations. Mulch with well-rotted organic matter in late winter or early spring, and for best flowering apply a general rose or shrub fertiliser in early spring and again in early summer. See rose cultivation

Propagate by softwood cuttings in early to mid spring, hardwood cuttings in late summer to autumn or by chip budding in summer
