Small, compact, dainty rose of antiquity, about 60cm tall, with upright growth and thin, stiff stems packed closely with foliage. Lightly scented, pompon blooms of rosy-claret to purple occasionally flecked pink, once flowering in midsummer; of unknown origin pre 1664

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun and suited to container cultivation. mulch with well-rotted organic matter in late winter or early spring, and for best flowering apply a general rose or shrub fertiliser in early spring and again in early summer.
