Get Set, Grow! Episode Four

Seedlings sown outside will soon need thinning out, while indoor-sown seedlings will require hardening off. Lettie explains what all of this means in Episode Four

You might have some seedlings appearing on your plot after sowing seeds such as beetroot in the last episode. If you have lots of seedlings appearing very close together, you will want to thin them out. In this episode of Get Set, Grow! Lettie explains why this is important, how to do it and when to do it.

With your outdoor seeds taken care of, Lettie explains what hardening off is and why it’s important for any seedlings you’ve been growing indoors. This episode also runs you through sowing larger seeds such as squashes, courgettes and runner beans.

Also learn how to create a wigwam to support plants such as runner beans, and how to sow seeds in containers if you’re short on space. This is a packed episode of Get Set, Grow! with lots of advice to help you on your journey to growing a feast of delicious fruit and vegetables.
