Very vigorous rose about 1.5m tall, with prickly stems and plentiful glossy, wrinkled, bright green foliage turning yellow in autumn. Fragrant, dark magenta-pink, single flowers 9cm across, repeat-flowering in summer and autumn, followed by large scarlet fruits (hips)

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in full sun or partial shade. Tolerant of most soil types but performs best in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Suitable for hedging. See rose cultivation for further advice

Pruning

Prune in late winter to early spring, removing dead or congested wood and suckers. Cut stems to the ground on overgrown plants in need of rejuvination
