A wild rose, to around 2.5m high, with long, arching stems, curving thorns, and toothed, glossy green leaves with softly hairy undersides. Produces small, rose pink or sometimes white flowers to 4cm across in early summer, each with five shallowly notched petals. Flowers are followed by oval-shaped red fruit (hips)

How to Grow

Cultivation

Propagate by softwood cuttings in early to mid spring, hardwood cuttings in late summer to autumn or by chip budding in summer; propagate by seed; species roses can be propagated by seed but need stratification and germination may take two seasons
